We were extremely delighted to Interact with Mr. K. Rajasekaran, Managing Director – Ravel Electronics Pvt. Ltd. , Thank You Ravel Team for the Warm Welcome.

Q.1.  Could you brief our readers about Ravel Electronics Pvt Ltd ? Could you brief us about the overall business Activities of your Company ?

RAVEL ELECTRONICS PVT. LTD., was established in 2003 with a vision of serving the fire detection industry which was at that point in time craving for a robust and trouble free Fire Alarm Panel from a dependable manufacturer. Very soon “RAVEL” became synonymous with the fire detection industry as a manufacturer capable of delivering tailor-made solutions with a very strong after sales support across India. Today apart from serving the domestic market we have presence in about 18 countries which include, the Middle East, Philippines, Indonesia, Egypt, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka etc. We are also setting up a new state of the art manufacturing facility near Chennai with about 15000 sft floor space and scope for doubling this in future.

RAVEL offers the entire range of Conventional and Addressable Fire Alarm Systems which include the panel, detectors, manual call points, sounders/strobes, response indicators, modules etc. and also conventional and Digital Alarm and Voice Evacuation Systems.

Q.2. How do you find the Fire Safety market in the India ? Name a single product where you hold the maximum market share in Indian markets ?

Awareness as far as Indian market was concerned was extremely wanting but we can see a conspicuous change happening all round with more foreign investors coming in. We have been consistently doubling our turnover for the last 3 to 4 years and we see bigger opportunities opening up in future with our new product lines being offered. As it is evident, our conventional fire alarm systems which have been in the market for more than a decade now has been our major market share in India. Ravel has almost become generic for conventional systems. I attribute this to the fact that we have built a robust system which has been time tested and proven and backed by a very strong support network. No compromise whatsoever has been done for price reduction even though we are about 20% more expensive in the market.

Q.3.  Brief us about your outreach & facilities offered to brand the Emergency Systems offered by you ?

Starting with our technical team conducting on site survey till the system is handed over we work hand in hand with the integrator/end customer. This is possible because of our network of offices and technical staff available in almost all strategic location across India. We have maintained a system whereby the user has easy accessibility to a company representative for any sort of techno commercial escalation so that we are able to effectively build confidence with the user. Any technical issue is sorted out within 24-48 hours depending on the location.

Q.4. Can you elaborate more about the product Portfolio & its application ? Could you brief us about this product & how is it helpful ?

Conventional and addressable fire alarm systems are known to everyone and its application depends on the size of the project. Our Voice evacuation systems which is added recently is also gaining grounds in the market. These system can interface seamlessly with the fire detection system and hence an advantage to the user. Added to this fire man telephone system with full duplex communication is also a new development. The overall voice evacuation system is in the digital format which again gives us an edge over the regular competition.

Q.5. What is the market expectations with regards to some of the pioneering product launched by you in the Indian market Region ?

Primarily for any product the market is expecting a technology which is either equal or better than what is available, a price which is competitive with the contemporary systems and finally a product from a reputed and established brand. On all these three counts Ravel fits perfectly.

Q.6.  Tell us the agenda to improve Ravel Electronics Pvt Ltd position in India & what are the Business benefits to look forward.

Very optimistic plans have been laid for the next 5 years to take Ravel to the next level. We have in the agenda plan to start manufacturing some of the items which we are importing today. We are also looking at expanding our production capacity with our new plant being commissioned sometime by end of 2015. We are also looking to put our footprints in more nations across the globe and for this we are actively planning exhibitions and road shows in such locations. We expect the export market alone to grow by 200% for the next 3 years. This year as it is has shown 220% growth over last year.
