Passenger Bus Fire (Nashik Highway) Rescued all 13 Families – Great Effort by Fire Fighters

On 18th Oct 2019 around 1040 hrs. Received a call from highway police station informing that there is a vehicle on highway going towards Nashik has passenger inside has caught fire and need our fire team to extinguish the same.

With permission of HOD & Mr. Jayant Ingale , and asked me to rush with fire team at the location. So self along with Fireman Ajay Mhasane, Ganesh Bhagade ,Vishal Waltule, Sanjay Barhe rushed towards place of incident along with Plant fire tender. Upon reaching to the said location it was noticed that a 04 wheeler commercial tempo traveler (Reg No. MH 04 GP 3132 carrying passenger 13 family members constricts of children and old ladies and one driver coming Borivali to Shirdi in front of highway traffic police chowki and our plant location due to short circuit of wiring had taken fire and quickly with help of police highway team family members were taken to safe place whole tempo traveler was started to burning with huge flames.

After analyzing the situation I coordinated with highway police API Amol Walzade and asked them to stop the road movement and started extinguishing the fire, preliminarily we started extinguishing with water but it was inefficient to work as tyre & engine of the tempo caught fire again and again. I quickly used one DCP fire extinguisher stopped engine from the burning and another one DCP fire extinguisher was called from truck parking to spray on engine overheated and burning area returned towards the fire team which was intensively burning, heat was too much as form seat cover and inside fitting inside tempo traveler was burning it and was very difficult to get close by which had also diesel tank filled and finally water Cooling was done to stop further loss of vehicle for finally overcame the situation.

After full cooling down of vehicle was tow to one side and highway traffic which was stopped had started to move on their direction. It was very difficult task to accomplish but with extreme efforts shown by Team Fire Mahindra achieved the one. Plant fire tender and team reached at location safely one associated from Nef assembly Mr. Sudharshan Donar had also assisted our fire team at location with hose real to cool down the vehicle which had turn into huge flames at highway location.

Highway police staff, officer API Amol Walzade and NHAI authority appreciated efforts taken by Mahindra & Mahindra LTD. Fire Team.

As all the family members waiting at traffic police chowki and Their other transport vehicle coming from Mumbai to take them to Shirdi.

With help & support from MAHINDRA logistics Mr. Sunil Dhanokar & his team they had halted and taken rest at logistics cabin at truck parking area, the family members when their transport arrived from Mumbai and leaving towards Shirdi had thanks Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd & logistics team to giving them support and help in the situation.
