Illuminating Success: A Woman’s Leadership in Fire Safety Ms. Alka Joshi

A true trailblazer, Ms. Alka Joshi co-founded Prolite alongside her husband, Harsha Joshi, in 1984, laying the foundation for a brand that would revolutionize the emergency lighting industry. Her pivotal role in securing major contracts—starting with a breakthrough order from the Central Bureau of Investigation in 1987, followed by a nationwide agreement with Coca-Cola—propelled Prolite to new heights.

Her strategic vision led to Prolite’s inclusion on ITPL’s prestigious vendor list, cementing its reputation in global markets. Under her leadership, the company expanded to over 2,000 clients, backed by a robust infrastructure that includes a 100,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility, a Mumbai headquarters, and 14 regional offices.

With a team of 500 professionals, Ms. Joshi continues to drive innovation and excellence in the industry, proving that women can lead, build, and transform businesses on a global scale. This Women’s Day, we celebrate her vision, resilience, and remarkable contributions to the fire safety sector.
