Special Feature: Thermal Cameras

matrix 1How big is the Thermal Camera market in India?

Thermal cameras have the unique feature of visibility in pitch dark areas, with the requirement of heat maps. These heat maps help in image formation even the darkest places. Thermal cameras also facilitate a longer range of distance that can be covered and are thus increasingly being used for border security and oil field security systems. It is a segment yet to be explored to its full potential in the Indian market.

How Thermal Camera trend is evolving globally and what is its growth prospects in India?

The Indian government has announced projects for border security requiring thermal cameras. Military base stations also have a demand for these cameras due to the rise in global threats and terrorism, after the pathankot incident recently. Globally, there is a rise in the requirement of thermal cameras as are the growth prospects in the Indian market.

What are the challenges and opportunities for Thermal Camera solutions?

Only a few MNC's have been able to manufacture and retail these cameras due to the heavy cost of production. So there is less implementation of such projects by Indian manufacturers. If, however, these challenges are overcome, there is immense scope of growth and opportunity in the thermal camera market.sparsh logo FC
