Fire Service Week 2017 Report B. M. Airport Ranchi

The Fire wing of AAI at B.M Airport, Ranchi has successfully organised the fire service week that concluded on Thursday (20th April).Mock fire drill and live fire fighting and rescues demonstrations by fire personnel marked the concluding ceremony of national fire service week observation.

The theme for this year's National Fire Service Week being 'Firemen – Your partner for saving life and property', it is fitting to render our gratitude to our safety heroes for their selfless service to humanity.

During the fire service week different type of fire activities held at Ranchi Airport.  Inauguration of fire service week was conducted in presence of chief guest Mr Anil Vikram, Airport Director on 14th April 17. On that day different programmes were organised such as Guard of honour, two minute silence for brave fire fighter who died in Victoria Dock Yard Mumbai 1944 during fire fighting. Water salute of ACFT. Fire service day sticker distribution. Live demonstration of fire fighting equipments among all wings of airport staffs/CISF/BSF/Reliance oil /Indian oil staffs including all airlines staffs.

Apart from that different activities held on daily basis during the week such as fire training was given to airlines staffs for spreading awareness on fire safety. Hot fire drill conducted successfully to check the readiness level of fire personnel. Fire equipment drill & other fire related activities competition conducted among fire personnel in the presence of Tej Bahadur Chauhan, Manager (FS). Manager (FS) organised fire related drawing competition among children in community centre. One day special fire training programme & live demonstration of fire extinguisher organised by Manager (FS) in Loyola Public School, Hinoo Ranchi for spreading awareness among school students. It was overwhelming response given by school staffs & students to Manager (FS).

Chief guest Mr Anil Vikram, Airport Director/ DGM (ATM) , DC CISF and other wings HODscomplimented the entire fire team and distributed prizes to fire staffs for their outstanding performance under the dynamic leadership of Tej Bahadur Chauhan, Manager (FS), Birsa Munda Airport, Ranchi, Mob: 9425032005
