OBSERVENCE OF 73rd NATIONAL FIRE SERVICE DAY& FIRE SAFETY WEEK

The 14th April is observed as a fire service day by all fire brigade services all over India. The Bombay explosion in which  a large foreign ship at Mumbai port with million liters of lubricating oil barrels, million tons of bales of cotton along with highly inflammable  materials like detonators, currency notes, gold & gold bricks exploded which was in shift name SS FORT STIKINE.  On this day of 14th April in 1944 this steamer caught fire and before anyone could realize it, a major tragedy happened.  The color of the sky changed to black with smoke, and the fire could be seen from a long distance.

All the people of Mumbai, several volunteers, American Red Cross opened their doors for fire fighters. Several doctors, nurses were on duty and they rushed from their hospitals to attend to the big heap of burned and broken dead bodies. As many as 66 fire brigade staff’s brave men perished during the firefighting &rescue operations. To commemorate these ‘jawans’, fire brigade observe this day as a fire service day every year since thenall over India this day is observed as NATIONALL FIRE SERVICE DAY  to pays tributes to the memory of the fire fighters who gave their life in the line of duty.

HIGHLIGHTS OF FIRE SAFETY WEEK AT HSP

Event for National Fire service day:

1. Hose drill for male guards (3)

2. Hose drill for female guards (3)

3. Hose drill for ERT (3)

4. MCP drill for FLS team (2)

5. Evacuation drill for entire P-8 Management office staff

 And pledge for National Fire Service Day.

6. Price distribution for winners by Centre Director 

7. National Fire Service Day badge distribution ceremony for all FLS team by Centre Director.

Hose drill for all security guards

The fire hose training along with hydrant drill was demonstrated for 42 in numbers security guards and lady security guard. The purpose of this training was to familiarize all security guards with hose and hydrant during any emergency situation. The Breathing Apparatus set training and demonstration for FLS ERT and security guards also initiated. The training was conducted for three days to cover maximum staff to be familiarize. To make the event competitive on first day we have arranged competition for guards and FLS staff on hose rigging and hydrant drill. After the competition the winners were felicitated by centre director.

 

 

 

Evacuation drill for P-8 Mall office

The surprised evacuation drill was planned and executed for all mall management staff on P-8 level at palladium. The evacuation was completed within 5 min time and all staff were assembled at fire assembly point 02(near Mcd gully).Mr Satish Nikam FLS Manager explained and briefed all mall staff about the importance and information of NATIONAL FIRE SERVICE DAY. There after Mr Vaibhav Shitole AM FLS gave brief of all the activities happened for the day and all the mall staff took FIRE PLEDGE remembering all the fire fighters involved in the fire mishap. The prize distribution ceremony was held for the winners of the hose and hydrant drill. After prize distributing ceremony mall staffs were presented with fire man’s badge.

Mock drill cum training secession by Mumbai fire brigade.

 

Mock drill cum training secession was conducted by Mumbai fire brigade team to enforce emergency preparedness of Mall fire safety team, Mr Sawant Fire officer also in-house training secession on importance of fire &  life safety  in commercial and high rise building below are some snaps for the training and practical session.
